El Barka Bank Syariah Lab
Malang - Now the Faculty of Economics and Business, State University of Malang (FEB UM) has El Barka Bank for learning. El Barka Bank is a Sharia Laboratory Unit of FEB UM which uses sharia transactions in its implementation. Apart from accommodating students who want to save their money without interest, El Barka also accommodates students to apply sharia economic knowledge that has been obtained from classes and other media.
Currently El Barka Bank opens deposit products, both regular deposits and program deposits. In the future, El Barka Bank will also open financing products that are expected to facilitate student entrepreneurship programs.


El Barka Bank is chaired by Accounting Department Lecturer, Diana Tien Irafahmi, S.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D., besides other managers, namely Hanjar Ikrima Nanda, S.Pd., M.Account, Santi Merlinda, S.E., M.E., Achmad Murdiono, S.Pd., S.E., M.M, and Andro Agil Nur Rakhmad, S.E.I, M.E. In addition, El Barka Bank is also managed by 26 FEB UM students with manager Lina Hanifatul Azizah, a student of the Management Department.
El Barka Bank was inaugurated by the Dean of FEB UM, Prof. Dr. Cipto Wardoyo, S.E., M.Pd., M.Si., Ak., CA on September 22, 2022. The opening of El Barka Bank received a positive response from students. They are happy to finally have a good practicum facility, especially students of the Accounting Department and Management Department.
Furthermore, the Dean of FEB UM, Prof. Dr. Cipto Wardoyo, S.E., M.Pd., M.Si., Ak., CA also said that with El Barka it is hoped that students will not only get to know Islamic banking from social media. But the real practices of Islamic banking

"It is hoped that El Barka Bank can accommodate students in managing finances as well as learning sharia economics by direct practice. Not only FEB students, all FEB students are expected to participate in building El Barka Bank so that it can operate optimally." Said the Dean of FEB UM in his speech.
In addition to the inauguration of El Barka, on this occasion a guest lecture was also held, themed "El Barka Bank: An Innovative Learning Tool for Sharia Economics",
