International Service by FEB UM Lecturers at SIJB Malaysia: Forming a Competitive, Creative, and Innovative Entrepreneurial Spirit

 

MALAYSIA, June 20, 2024 - Lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business, State University of Malang (FEB UM) held an international service at the Indonesian School Johor Bahru (SIJB) Malaysia with the theme "Forming a Competitive, Creative and Innovative Entrepreneurial Spirit." This program aims to provide insight and entrepreneurial skills to elementary and junior high school students, so that they can develop an entrepreneurial spirit that is ready to compete at the global level.

Led by Andy Prasetyo Wati, S.E., S.Pd., M.Pd, the FEB UM lecturer team provided comprehensive material and training, ranging from identifying business opportunities, business planning, to effective marketing strategies. This program is also an effort to support the achievement of SDGs 1, 4, and 17, namely about no poverty, quality education, and partnerships to achieve goals. Ms. Andy emphasized the importance of having a competitive spirit in facing global competition, creativity in developing new ideas, and innovation to continuously adapt to market changes.

In the training sessions, students were invited to understand and apply basic entrepreneurial concepts through various interactive activities. They are also given the opportunity to discuss and collaborate in groups, which aims to improve their critical thinking and teamwork skills. The program is designed to not only provide theoretical knowledge, but also valuable practical experience.

Plh. The head of SIJB, Mrs. Erry Kananga, expressed her appreciation for the initiative of the FEB UM lecturer. According to him, this activity is very beneficial for students and is expected to continue in the future. "We are very grateful for the knowledge and experience provided. Hopefully this activity can motivate students to become successful entrepreneurs and contribute to the progress of the nation, "said Mrs. Erry.

This international service received a positive response from SIJB students and teachers. They appreciated the material presented as well as the interactive and inspiring learning methods. Through this activity, it is hoped that students can be inspired and motivated to develop a competitive, creative, and innovative entrepreneurial spirit.

This international service program shows the commitment of FEB UM in making a real contribution through activities that can have a positive impact on Indonesia's young generation abroad. By forming a competitive, creative, and innovative entrepreneurial spirit, students are expected to be able to contribute to the progress of the Indonesian nation in various fields.
