February, 29th 2024 – It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of the 6-day Inbound Mobility event attended by 25 UPM students. The goodbye took place at 7 p.m. in Bata Merah, Kota Batu, marking the finish of a series of activities full of experiences and unforgettable memories for the participants. Clearly visible were expressions of sadness, emotion, and smiles among the gathered participants, showing a mix of feelings as this adventure came to an end.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and friendship, strongly felt amidst the cool night air. They hugged each other, shared stories, and laughed while remembering the nice moments they shared. Every corner of Bata Merah saw the tightly woven friendships formed in such a short time. Not only among the participants but also with the local residents and organizing committee, an emotional bond had been made.

This goodbye event was not just a chance to say goodbye but also a moment to think about what they had gained over these 6 days. Many important lessons were learned, both academically and personally. They learned to appreciate different cultures, learn more things, and get better at talking to people from different cultures. All of this not only helps them for the future but also leaves a big mark on their life journeys.

During the activities, the UPM students asked everyone there to sing together. The event organizers also surprised them by giving them a special song. The event ended with the exchange of gifts between the two universities and everyone giving each other hugs.

Even though this goodbye brings sadness about leaving new friends, it also brings hope for seeing each other again in the future. The feeling of friendship and working together during this Inbound Mobility event will not go away easily but will keep growing and be the base for strong relationships among them. With thankful and hopeful hearts, they said goodbye that night, taking with them memories that will keep their hearts warm.
