Malang, February 20, 2024 – The excitement of UPM students keeps growing as they discover more about the culture and learning opportunities in Malang. On the second day of the exchange program at Universitas Negeri Malang, 25 students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) joined 15 students from Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) for a financial management training led by Prof. Dr. Bambang Sugeng, SE, MA, MM, Ak., a professor in the accounting department. The training focused on “Manajemen Keuangan Fundamental (Coaching Riset with dengan Metode Kuantitatif)” .

The goal of the training was to help students understand the basics of financial management better. Professor Bambang Sugeng explained about stocks, which are a part of financial assets, in detail. During the training, UM and UPM students were divided into 8 groups.

Students didn’t just listen to lectures from Professor Bambang, but they also took part in group discussions and case studies to study market conditions for investing. This collaboration between UPM and UM students created a lively and productive learning environment, where they shared ideas and experiences from different academic and cultural backgrounds.

Professor Bambang Sugeng believes that this training is a great chance for students to improve their skills and knowledge in financial management. He said, “By understanding the basics and analyzing market trends in investments, students will be better prepared for investing, both personally and professionally.”

With the SDGs theme “Maximizing SDGs 4 and 8: Fostering Global Diversity and Creativity in Student Skills Through Education”, this training not only gives practical knowledge to students but also helps strengthen cooperation between UPM and UM, especially FEB, in education and research. It’s hoped that through this collaboration, students will feel more confident in dealing with the changing world of finance.
