Monday, October 22, 2018, the Faculty of Economics, University of Malang (UM) together with the Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI) Komisariat Malang Raya has held an annual event, namely, 2nd International Research Conference on Economics and Business (IRCEB) at Savana Hotel and Convention with the theme of "Sustainability Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth to Promote Innovation-Led Growth in SME's". The event was opened by Vice Rector 1, Prof. Dr. H. Budi Eko Soetjipto, M.Ed., M.Si. and Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Cipto Wardoyo, S.E., M.Pd, M.Si. Ak, CA.
Dr. Hj Puji Handayati, S.E.Ak, M.M., CA, CMA as the Chief Executive of the 2nd IRCEB explained that the activity was to increase reputable publications for the academic community of universities in Indonesia, as well as to increase cooperation and improvement in the MSME sector. In this seminar, the 2nd IRCEB invited 1 keynote speakers and 3 speakers from abroad, namely the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of Indonesia, Drs. Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga represented by Dr. Rully Nuryanto as the Deputy of ESDM of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Prof. Kelly's Jayasinghe from Essex University - UK, Dr. Mahira Kamaludin from Terengganu University - Malaysia and Dr. Maxwell Briggss from QUT Business School - Australia.
The 2nd IRCEB activity was also attended by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, he gave several statements which considered that MSMEs are one of the pillars of the economy in Indonesia, but their movement still has many problems, especially in terms of capital, quality of goods and marketing. The number of participants who attended this international seminar was 186 people from various universities in Indonesia and several participants from abroad.
