Joint selection in the admission of new students in state universities through national written examinations that have been carried out so far have shown various advantages and advantages, both for participants, state universities, and for the national interest. For participants, joint selection is beneficial because it is more efficient, cheaper, and flexible. This is due to the cross-region mechanism.
Based on the experience in implementing SBMPTN, which is the selection of new student admissions through written exams or a combination of the results of written exams and skills exams, in 2017 a written test consisting of Paper-Based Testing (PBT) and Computer-Based Testing (CBT)
In this case, a Local Committee 55 (Panlok 55 Malang) was formed consisting of 3 universities namely, Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), and Universitas Islam Negeri Malang (UIN) to discuss the implementation of the 2017 SBMPTN CBT module.
