Thursday (01/09/2016), the Faculty of Economics, Department of Development Economics held a Character Education Seminar 2016 with the theme "Optimizing the Role of Family and School in the Formation of Children's Character" by presenting three speakers as seminar speakers, namely: Professor of Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Dr. Muhyadi, and two professors from State University of Malang itself, namely, Vice Rector 2, Prof. Dr. Wahjoedi, M.E. and Prof. Sa'adun Akbar, M.Pd.

As an opener, remarks were made by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. H Budi Eko Soetjipto, M.Ed., M.Si, then the opening of the event was carried out with a dance program from students of the Faculty of Letters, State University of Malang. The event was attended by elementary to high school teachers, lecturers, and students from all over Indonesia.
