On Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, the Faculty of Economics and Business held an inbound mobility event with Universiti Putra Malaysia. During this event, Mr. Heri Praktikto, a lecturer from Universitas Negeri Malang, led an inspiring session on Islamic Business Ethics. The event was attended by 25 students from Universiti Putra Malaysia. In his presentation, Mr. Heri discussed the ethical values underlying business practices in Islam.
The fact that Indonesia is one of the most populous Muslim countries makes the topic of “Islamic Business Ethics” very interesting to discuss with Universiti Putra Malaysia students, where Malaysia is also predominantly Muslim.
He emphasized the importance of integrity, honesty, and social responsibility in every aspect of business. Mr. Heri also emphasized that the key to success in business according to Islam is trust and competence. UPM students were very enthusiastic and active in following this explanation because they gained new insights into how Islam views and regulates the business world.
This event provided an opportunity for students to broaden their understanding and perspectives on the importance of practicing ethical values in every aspect of life, including in the business world. In addition, UPM students also learned about the learning process in Indonesian universities. Mr. Heri Praktikto was respected for his valuable contribution in disseminating knowledge about Islamic Business Ethics and motivating the younger generation to become responsible and ethical business leaders.
